Warm-Up
What is our first truth? I was made on purpose and for a purpose!
What is our second truth? I can trust God and His Word!
What is our third truth? God loves me and sent Jesus for me!
The next two weeks we will learn what action God wants us to take: Love God and love others
Taking action is doing something in response to a command or order. What are things you have taken action on? (taking out garbage, cleaning your room, eating when hungry)
“Love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, with all your mind, and with all your strength.” – Mark 12:30
Workout
Over the last weeks, we have studied God’s Game Plan. Now, it’s time to commit to doing what He says. It’s time for action!
How do we do that? By loving God and loving others.
Today, let’s focus on loving God. We must love Him before we can love others.
We will do this by committing and saying yes to the three H’s: Heart, Head, and Hands. Jesus tells us in Mark 12:30 how to fully love God:
“Love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, with all your mind, and with all your strength.”
Let’s break down the three H’s:
- Heart: “I will love God with my heart and soul.”
- Head: “I will love God with my mind.”
- Hands: “I will love God with my strength.”
When we commit to loving God, we say yes to loving him with our heart, head, and hands.
Let’s stop and think about practicing. When we practice as a team, it is not just one part of us. We use our hands, our feet, our minds, our strength. It would not work if we only used one part of us.
This is what God is saying, commit to love Him with everything, with all your strength.
Warm-Up
“Dear God, I commit to loving You with my heart, head, and hands. I do not want to go back and forth with loving You and then not. I want to be all in. Fill me up with Your love. Amen.”
