Week 7: I Grow In Every Way

Coach's Corner

Warm-Up

“[Christ] makes the whole body fit together perfectly. As each part does its own special work, it helps the other parts grow, so that the whole body is healthy and growing and full of love.” — Ephesians 4:16

  1. What is something you do that helps you get better as an athlete?
  2. Who is someone that has helped you get better as an athlete?

Workout

There are lots of ways you can get better at your sport. You can study the game. You can watch talented athletes and teams compete. You can train. You can practice. You can get advice from your coach and help from your teammates.

Becoming a better athlete has many rewards, but it’s even more important to learn how to become more like Jesus! How does that sound to you?

When that starts to happen in your life, you will be excited to see that you are growing!

2 Peter 3:18a says, “You must grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.”

So how do you grow in every way? Here are 3 important ways:

  1. You can spend time talking to God through prayer.
  2. You can learn more about Him by reading the Bible.
  3. You can grow together with other Christians at church and in Huddles like this one.

As you do these things, you will become stronger in all areas of your life and others will notice your growth! Which one of these ways do you need to work on? Let’s come up with some ideas together on how to grow!

Wrap-Up

“Dear God, thank You for giving me the Bible so I can learn more about You. Thank You for letting me talk to You and listen to You. And thank You for other Christians that can help me grow in my relationship with You. Amen.”
