Week 7: God Sent Jesus For Me

Coach's Corner

Warm-Up

“But God showed his great love for us by sending Christ to die for us while we were still sinners.” – Romans 5:8

Last week, we talked about how God Loves Me. Even though each of us were born with sin and don’t deserve His love, God still cared enough to give us a way to have eternal life.

I’m going to pass out bracelets that will help you remember the Bible’s truths found in something we call “The FOUR.”

There are four icons that surround the bracelet:

  • The heart will help you remember that, “God Loves You.”
  • The division sign will help you remember that, “Sin Separates You.”
  • The cross will help you remember that, “Jesus Rescues You.”
  • The question mark is there to ask, “Will You Trust Him?”

When I point to each icon, say the words that go with each picture. Each time, say it louder!

Workout

At times during a game, you might make a bad play. In those moments, you might need someone to rescue you. That’s when your coaches and teammates are supposed to step in and give you a helping hand.

But in life, we have someone who is better than even the best coaches and teammates. We have Jesus Christ! He will always rescue us. Because of God’s great love, He sent His Son to give His life for us. Jesus died on the cross and paid the price for your sins. Once we accept that Jesus has saved us, we can trust Him with everything in our lives.

Romans 10:9 says, “If you openly declare that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.”

If we trust that Jesus has saved us from our sins, we become a part of God’s family forever! The Bible tells us, “But to all who believed him and accepted him, he gave the right to become children of God.” – John 1:12

Are you ready to trust Jesus?

Wrap-Up

Let’s listen as I read this prayer to you:

“Dear God, thank You for loving me and wanting the best for my life. I have lived my life for myself and done things my way, and I am truly sorry. Jesus, I believe that you are God and have forgiven all my sins by dying and coming back to life again for me. I trust You and ask You to be Lord of my life. I surrender my life to You. You are my God, my Savior and my Lord. Let me experience Your love and Your good plans for my life! Amen.”
