How do you know if you love something or someone?

“For God loved the world in this way: He gave his one and only Son, so that everyone who believes in Him will not perish but have eternal life.” – John 3:16

Workout

I’m going to pass out bracelets that will help you remember the Bible’s truths about God’ s love for you. It is something called “The FOUR”.

  • The heart will help you remember that, “God Loves You.”
  • The division sign will help you remember that, “Sin Separates You.”
  • The cross will help you remember that, “Jesus Rescues You.”
  • The question mark is there to ask, “Will You Trust Him?”

When I point to each icon, say the words that go with each picture.

This week’s Game Plan is in two parts: Love and Sin.

Love: God loves you. He loves you so much.

God loves us so much that He gave something for every single one of us. In John 3:16, we find that He gave His Son to us:

“For God loved the world in this way: He gave his one and only Son, so that everyone who believes in Him will not perish but have eternal life.” -John 3:16

This was a gift from God, but not any kind of a gift. It was a gift that was very costly and very special to Him.

Second, Sin: Sin separates us.

There was a time people turned away from God’s game plan, and in that moment, sin entered the world and broke our relation ship with God. People turned their back on God even though God loved them so much.
We all sin when we do things our way instead of God’s way.
Everyone sins. The Bible tells us, “For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God;” — Romans 3:23

Wrap-Up

Today, we learned that God love’s us so much and about the sin that caused us to be
separated from God. Next time, we will learn about how forgiveness makes us feel way better and how to have that in our lives.

Let’s close in prayer together:

“Dear God, thank You loving me so deeply. I know my sin is big, but Your love is bigger. I know that I have sinned, but You still love me. Thank You that You never stop loving me. Amen.”
