Week 6

God’s Game Plan

Coach’s Devotional

“For God loved the world in this way: He gave his one and only Son, so that everyone who believes in him will not perish but have eternal life.” – John 3:16

As a coach, you give your time for the team because you love to coach, the sport and the athletes. It’s that simple. Even when athletes make a mistake, we still love them and accept them as part of the team. The same is true with us and God. When we sin against God and disobey His teaching, He does not stop loving us.

This week you will introduce the Gospel to your athletes. Our verse for this week is one of the most recognized verses in the world.  May it fall afresh on you today. Coach, God demonstrated his love for you by sending His Son Jesus to live a sinless life, die on a cross on your behalf, and then rise from the dead so that you can be in relationship with Him right now.

Though our sin is great, His love is greater. His love changed your life – and continues to change your life each day. As you lead this week, remember that truth.

  1. How do you feel knowing that God loves you no matter what?
  1. Spend time thanking God for all that He has done for you.

Romans 5:8; Ephesians 2:4; 1 John 4:9-10; John 10:28

“Father, thank You for the beauty of the Gospel. Would the truth of your love be made clear and known to my team. Thank You for Your love for all of us. Amen.”
