God’ Game Plan
Coach’s Devotional
Ready:
“Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not rely on your own understanding.” – Proverbs 3:5
Set:
How trusting are you? Is it easy or hard for you to trust someone or something? Life experiences built the trust-meter in our lives and result of those experiences determines how trusting we are.
God is fully trustworthy. The Bible is full of examples of God coming through and showing up for people. He heard the cry of the Israelites when they were captive in Egypt and He set them free (Exodus 3). He delivered Jericho into the hands of Joshua and the Israelites so they could enter Canaan (Joshua 6). He heard David proclaim God’s power before defeating the giant Goliath (1 Samuel 17). He sent His own Son to save the world from their sins (John 3:16). Time and again God shows up. He is trustworthy.
Do you trust God to run the plays in your life, like you expect your athletes to trust the plays you have drawn up for the team? Whatever you are facing today as a coach, parent and Child of God – you can trust Him.
Go:
- What experiences have you had that have helped built your trust in God?
- Do you believe God wants what is best for you?
Workout:
Jeremiah 17:7; Psalms 46:7; Joshua 1:9
Overtime:
“Father, help me to trust You fully. Thank You for the Bible that demonstrates Your trustworthiness. Thank You for leading me. In Jesus’ name, amen.”
