Week 3: God Loves You pt 2

Let’s review.  What does the heart stand for?  God loves us!

“For God loved the world in this way: He gave his one and only Son, so that everyone who believes in him will not perish but have eternal life.” – John 3:16

Last week we talked about how God loves you so much He made you and loves you a lot. Today we will look at another truth: God is real, and He wants you to feel His love and find His purpose of your life through a relationship with Him.

Real or Not Real –pick a side.  Have kids line up on one side or the other if they think something is real or not

Q: Woolly Mammoth – real or not real? How do we know?

Q: Bluey – real or not real? What makes Bluey not real?

Q: Caveman – real or not real? Why?

Q: Dragon fruit – real or not real? Yes, there really is a fruit called dragon fruit

Q: Clifford – real or not real? Why?

Q: Megalodon – real or not real? How do you know?

In the game you had to decide if things were real or not. Some of the things we know are real even though we have never seen them.

We never have to wonder if God is real. All we have to do is look at the night sky. The Bible tells us that “The heavens declare the glory of God, and the expanse proclaims the work of his hands” (Psalm 19:1).

Not only is God real but He wants you to be your friend so you can feel His love and learn His plan for your life.  “I will give them a heart to know me, that I am the Lord. They will be my people, and I will be their God because they will return to me with all their heart.” – Jeremiah 24:7

Just like your coach gets to know you and helps you each practice, God wants to grow in relationship with you. We do that by reading our Bible and praying (talking to God).

What does the heart stand for? God Loves You!

Knowing that God made you, He loves you, He is real and wants a relationship with you is really important. When we understand these things, it makes deciding if we want a relationship with Him easier.

Next week we will start to learn about how we get in the way of a friendship with God.
