Week 10: Wrap-Up

Coach's Corner

Warm-Up

Okay, everyone, this is our last devotional time together. Can you believe it? I want you to turn to a partner and tell them one thing you have learned in our time together.

Throughout these ten weeks, we have learned about God’s Greater Plan and about three truths and one action we can all do. Does anyone remember what those are?

Workout

For the past ten weeks, we have been discussing these truths:

  • There is greater potential in my life than finding my identity in sports.
  • Christ’s Promise of Salvation gives me a new identity.
  • God loves you and sent Jesus to save you.
  • We are called to love God and love others.

All these truths have been preparing us to this action: love God and love others.

Throughout these past few weeks, we have reviewed God’s Greater Plan for each of us. We have seen that He cares about each little thing in our lives and about helping us become better. As your coach, I chose to do this devotional because I also care about you all becoming better. Not just better at your sport, but better young men and women and live for Someone Greater—Jesus Christ. .

We started by learning that God is the Light that guides us through the darkness of this world. Life may not be easy, but if we trust Christ, the darkness will not win. We can trust Christ because we know He is a promise keeper, and He has promised to love us no matter what we do. Because of His great love for us, we are to love others as part of God’s team. We all have the choice to be on God’s team, but we must understand that there is only one way for that to happen – through faith in Jesus.

All these lessons led to “The FOUR.” Can anyone tell me what the four symbols are? (heart, division sign, cross, and question mark) These symbols are an easy way to learn how to share the Gospel with others. Last, we talked about how people will know that you have Christ in you by the fruit you produce. We can show this fruit by glorifying God and telling others about Him.

We have learned a lot over the past few weeks! I hope you understand how much God and I care about you and how God is moving and working in your life every day.

Wrap-Up

  • What was your favorite part about Team Huddle times?
  • How will you live differently?
  • Have you realized that God may be asking you to do something?

Let’s Huddle up and shout, “God’s Greater Plan!”

“God, thank You for our time together. We’ve learned a lot over the last ten weeks. Help us to remember what we’ve learned but also share with others. Give us opportunities to show Your love. Thank You for each athlete here and the time and attention they have given. Guide them as we close our season. May they hold on to these truths and decrease so that you can increase their potential through Your promises. Amen.”
