God’s Game Plan
Coach’s Devotional
Coach, we are so excited to have you lead this season! As you guide these young athletes over the next 10 weeks, remember, God is going to do a great work in your athletes, and even more, He is going to do a great work in you too! We pray the next 10 weeks blesses and stretches you as it does your athletes.
Ready:
“’For I know the plans I have for you’ – this is the Lord’s declaration – ‘plans for your well-being, not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope.’” – Jeremiah 29:11
Set:
As coaches, we know that having a game plan lays the groundwork for a successful season. As you think about these next few weeks, what do you want to see your team achieve? Have you considered what you want to accomplish as a coach?
To achieve your goals, you need a game plan full of X’s and O’s. These are the plays and drills that will help you get to the next level. Every great coach has a game plan, and every great athlete follows it.
Did you know that God has great plans for our lives too? Jeremiah 29:11 reminds us of that promise.
This doesn’t mean we are guaranteed success, higher status or an easy path, but it does promise that God knows exactly what we need, and He is with us every step of the way.
Over the next 10 weeks, you’re going to learn more God’s great game plan for your life. I pray that you truly believe how much you’re loved and how God sent His son Jesus to save you and equip you with the Word of God to share with others. So, be confident that He is for you, and He is with you. That is the kind of success you can count on!
Go:
- What are your goals for this season? How will you achieve them?
- What spiritual goals could you set for this season? How can you reach them?

Overtime:
“Dear Heavenly Father, thank You for being the greatest Coach. Thank you for having a plan for our lives. Watch over us this season – keep us safe and help us to learn these truths and keep them in our hearts. In Jesus’ name, amen.”
