Week 1
READY
“But to all who did receive him, he gave them the right to be children of God, to those who believe in his name.” – John 1:12
SET
The role of a coach seems so simple. Draw up plans and plays, put in the right personnel and execute the plan. Simple. But as coaches, we know things are never simple. All of the variables that need to be considered make coaching far from simple.
So, when something in life can be simple, I appreciate it. The Gospel is simple. John 1:12 lays it out in 17 words. The NIV version of John 3:16 states it so simply that it is one of the most recognized verses in the world. “For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.”
If it is so simple, why do we struggle so much with believing it. Maybe because the return on investment is so great it seems too good to be true. All we have to do is believe and in return we get eternal life in God’s presence in Heaven. That’s it?
The wonderful truth is that is it. Romans 10:9-10 states, “If you confess with your mouth, ‘Jesus is Lord,’ and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.” Simple.

1 Corinthians 15:1-4
OVERTIME
“Lord, Thank You for the gospel and its work in my life. As I coach this season, give me a heart to coach to the heart of my athletes. Speak through me during Huddle time and increase my understanding as I lead them.”
