WELCOME
In Huddle today, we are doing to talk about how God’s glory shines in us as we grow closer to Him.
“We all, with unveiled faces, are looking as in a mirror at the glory of the Lord and are being transformed into the same image from glory to glory; this is from the Lord who is the Spirit.” – 2 Corinthians 3:18
How many of you looked in the mirror today? Why did you look in the mirror? Today’s verse says we reflect, like a mirror, the glory of God. That’s pretty special.
WARM-UP
Copycat
Game: pick a partner, everyone knows how to play rock paper scissors, right? Well for this version you are going to be back-to-back and instead of trying to beat your partner with a different gesture, your goal on the count of 3 is to turn around and both be holding the same gesture (ie both are presenting rock). If you produce different symbols, then you are out.
The goal of the game was to mirror the symbol that your partner had. In life, our goal is to mirror Christ to point that we are reflecting the glory of God to those around us.
WORKOUT
Share about a time when something turned out even better than you expected. (maybe a vacation or winning a hard-fought game).
Throughout the Bible, God’s glory just keeps getting better and better. The more we read the more we learn about who God is and all that He has done for us.
Does anyone have a favorite Bible story? (take a few answers)
Why do you like that story so much? (We often like the stories where God does big, unexpected things to save people – Daniel and the lions, Noah and the ark, David and Goliath)
When we study God’s word, we begin to learn things about Him and that is how we start to reflect His glory.
What are some things you know about God? (take a few answers)
By studying Him, like we study and practice our sport, we start to reflect Him to the world instead of reflecting ourselves.
WRAP-UP
This week, I want you to think about how you can reflect God’s glory daily to the people around you.
Just like some of you try to reflect _______(name famous athlete for your sport) by watching videos on him/her we need to spend time with God in His Word in order to reflect God’s glory.
Let’s pray.
“Lord, we are grateful that we can know You through the Bible. Grow our desire to know You more. Help us to reflect You to those around us. In Jesus’ name, amen.”
Hands in, Whose glory, team?
God’s glory!
