By His Voice
READY:
“The heavens were made by the word of the Lord, and all the stars, by the breath of his mouth. He gathers the water of the sea into a heap; he puts the depths into storehouses. Let the whole earth fear the Lord; let all the inhabitants of the world stand in awe of him. For he spoke, and it came into being; he commanded, and it came into existence.” – Psalm 33:6-8
SET:
Do you have a “coaches voice”? That voice is synonymous with power and authority, and when it’s heard, everyone stops what they’re doing and pays full attention. Coaches are known for having such a loud voice that even in the middle of practice or a game, their players can hear them give directions or correction. It’s rare to see players who don’t listen to their coach; what the coach says goes.
Even though it’s rare to see disobedience to a coach; you are is still human. You cannot command the rain to stop so the game can continue. You can not, but our God sure can, and He did. Psalms remind us of the creation story in Genesis. Over seven days, God spoke into existence everything in the heavens and on earth.
God’s voice is the ultimate authority. He controls everything and can create or destroy what He puts into place. We should be in awe of this power, fear this power and give God the respect He deserves due to His power. If you need a reminder of God’s authority, look out the window and see it with your own eyes.
