Coaches Devotional Wk 2

“I am the vine; you are the branches. The one who remains in me and I in him produces much fruit, because you can do nothing without me.” — John 15:5

Who do you follow? Which coach do you look to for great game plans? What social media account do you scroll to find new drills and motivation? If you could coach just like ____, whose name would you put in that blank?

Someone who is following or learning from someone or something else is called a disciple. We are all discipled by various people and things. If we are followers of Jesus we are called to follow Him. That is His invitation, “‘Follow me,’ he told them, ‘and I will make you fish for people’” (Matthew 4:19).

Learning from Jesus means we are spending focused time with Him. Studying His words and ways in the Bible. We are talking to Jesus and seeking to hear from Him. Following Jesus as His disciple is not easy but it is so worth it.

  1. As you look at how you spend your time, would others know you are a follower of Jesus?
  1. In what ways can you deepen your discipleship of Jesus?

Matthew 16:22-24

2 Peter 3:18

1 Timothy 4:15

“Lord, there are so many people and things we can follow. Focus our eyes on You and give us hearts that desire to imitate You. We want to be dedicated disciples. Thank You for the Bible that guides us in how to do that. In Jesus’ name, amen.”
