Week 7
READY
“For you are saved by grace through faith, and this is not from yourselves; it is God’s gift – not from works, so that no one can boast.” – Ephesians 2:8-9
SET
Let’s be frank. Making all the decisions a coach has to make is exhausting. On top of that, many of us work other jobs, have families and in general interact with people. We make hundreds if not thousands of decisions a day. Decision fatigue is real. Sometimes an athlete will catch me at the wrong point in the day. After 999 decisions, I’ve had it.
The decision to trust Jesus is the most important decision we will ever make. I still remember the moment I made that decision at a college retreat in a rustic cabin in Minnesota. If you have made that decision, I encourage you to take a moment to remember it. If you have not, are you ready to trust Jesus?
The past two weeks of Huddle have been big ones for your athletes as they consider all they have learned about themselves; what God expects and what He is offering. You may feel ill-equipped to be the one presenting this important truth to them, but you are exactly who God chose for this moment. You don’t have to do anything; it is God who works in you. Don’t have the answer to a question? That is okay. Be honest about that and then try to find the answer later.
GO
- How has your decision to follow Jesus impacted your life? The life of your family? Your coaching?
