WELCOME
Hey everybody! It is awesome to have each of you here and we can spend time together during the season.
WARM UP
To start, everyone finds a partner and asks their partner’s name and what their favorite thing to do is. In a moment, you will share your partner’s name and favorite activity with the group. (everyone shares)
Those are all great answers! I like doing some of those things too. (Leader shares favorite activity). Sometimes, I don’t have time to do what I want because I’m so busy. Do you guys ever feel like that?
You know what? God can help us fix that. Before we begin, let’s pray together.
Father, thank You for a chance to be together. Thank you for giving us a few moments to slow down and learn about You together. Help us this season to reset and renew through Your Son Jesus. In His name we pray, amen.
WORKOUT
Who knows what our theme is?
That’s right! 24/7, and 24/7 means all the time. What are some things you do all the time? (wait for an answer or two)
You breathe all the time, right? Your heart beats all the time, and even your brain is working all the time.
What are some things you shouldn’t do all the time? (wait for an answer or two)
How about eating all day and all night? Think of the belly ache! Could you sleep all day and all night? I couldn’t!
There are some things we can do all the time, and some things we cannot do all the time.
This season, we’re going to look at how Jesus can help us do more what we should do and how He can make us like new.
Here’s the theme verse for the week, repeat after me: “Now may the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you believe so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.” Romans 15:13
WRAP-UP
That is all we have for this week. Next week, we will start learning how Jesus can help us. Let’s pray.
God, You are so good to give us time to relax and chat about our busy lives. As these weeks go by, help us to be able to reset where we need it and to renew our identity in You. Please help us to have a good season together, to be safe, and to know You better. In Jesus’ name, amen.
