Side Snaps

SET UP

Setup two cones 2-3 yards apart. These cones will indicate two lines where players will line up on. Players will pair up at each line. One will have a football.

MOVEMENT

Players will take turns snapping the football with a side-snap back and forth to one another.

KEY FOCUS POINTS

  • Players should focus on snapping the ball to the chest of the receiving player. The ball must begin on the ground when the snapping motion has started. The ball should begin with the ends of the ball up and down with the top part being in the hand of the center and the bottom being in the ground. Lastly, players should stay on their feet with knees bent… Don’t put a knee on the ground. In a game, a center will need to snap, then either go out for a pass or stay in and block.
