Setup- You will only need baseballs for this drill.
Movement- The fielders will get into proper fielding position. Then the coach will throw a short hop and the fielder will field it. You can create variety in this drill by moving to different sides and angles. The first is allowing the fielders to partner up and throw short hops to each other. You can also introduce short hops on the run where the fielder will move toward the coach as he throws a short hop. Lastly, you can also do short hops from the knees, where the fielders get on both knees and work on the same motion of fielding through the ball.
Key Focus Points- The focus of this drill is to stay down and field through the baseball.
