Layups with Jump Stop and Shoot

Set up: Two lines on the wings, 3’-5’ behind the three point line. One line with balls and the other line will serve as rebounders.

Movement: Players will take turns dribbling until halfway between starting position and the basket. Once they get to the designated shooting spot they will come to a jump stop on balance with ball moving from the dribble to the shooting position. Once successful jump stop into shooting position player will shoot the ball and move to the opposite line while rebounder grabs made or missed shot and returns to ball carrying line.

Key Focus Points: Driving the ball to the basket with pace, coming to a jump stop on balance with ball, jumping straight up and straight down on jump shot.
