Jog Ups

SET UP

Two lines going opposite directions with about 10 yards in between them. Players will line up in single file lines with a coach/ quarterback assigned to each line.

MOVEMENT

One at a time, players will jog up the field. A coach will lob a pass over each players outside shoulder. Players will adjust to the pass and work on catching the ball over their outside shoulder. This drill is run at half speed.

After catching the pass, players will jog to the back of the opposite line as they hand the ball to the other coach passing the their new line.

KEY FOCUS POINTS

  • Players should adjust their body so the ball is caught over their outside shoulder. Thus, shielding the imaginary defender from batting the ball down.
  • Players should practice tracking the ball.
