God’s Game Plan
Coach’s Devotional
Ready:
“We know that all things work together for the good of those who love God, who are called according to his purpose.” – Romans 8:28
Set:
Not only are we made on purpose, but we are made for a purpose. As competitive people, we tend to look to those who came before us to learn from. We can all remember the great coaches we have had. We carry their teaching with us as we lead.
But sometimes learning from the best is not enough. We had a game plan, but it didn’t work out. In life, we don’t have to rely on our plans. God already has the perfect plan for our lives. When we give our lives to Christ and choose to live for Him, we begin to take on His characteristics. Jesus was generous; we should be generous. Jesus loved others; we should love others. You get the picture.
God built a plan for your life around the skills, passions and gifts He gave you. Seek His specific plan for your life through prayer and time with Him.
As you lead, remember that your life in Christ has given you a new purpose. It’s time to live that out in front of your athletes this week.
Go:
- Have you ever questioned your purpose?
- How can time in God’s Word help you know and trust God’s purpose for your life?
Workout:
Romans 12:1-2; Ephesians 2:10
Overtime:
“Father God, thank You for having the best game plan for my life. Empower me to live out your perfect plan for my life as I serve my players and those around me. In Jesus’ name, amen.”
