God loves you! Did you know that? He created us and He loves His creation. But… we have a big problem. More on that in a little bit.
WARM-UP
Here is a simple question for our warm-up today. What was the coolest thing you have ever made with your own hands? (try to get answers from everyone, coaches too)
WORKOUT
GOD LOVES US
Genesis chapter 1 tells us that God created the universe: Earth and everything on it, and everything outside of it. Then God created mankind from the ground (Genesis 1-2). He called His creation ‘very good’.
It says in Psalm 139 that God is always watching over us, but that He also knit us together as babies. He created you and God loves His creation.
SIN SEPARATES US
But we have that big problem. After He created everything, Satan told Adam and Eve to eat some fruit God said not to eat. Not only is that bad, that is called sin.
“But your iniquities are separating you from your God, and your sins have hidden his face from you so that he does not listen.” – Isaiah 59:2
God is so good that we cannot even understand how good He is. That also means He cannot have anything to do with sin. We are apart from God because of that sin. And there is nothing we can do about it ourselves.
But we can be thankful because God made a way to be back together with Him.
WRAP-UP
God did not leave us helpless in our sin. He sent Jesus, who is His only Son, to fix it, which is awesome! If you want to know more, be here next week.
