WELCOME
“For Christ also suffered for sins once for all, the righteous for the unrighteous, that he might bring you to God. He was put to death in the flesh but made alive by the spirit,” -1 Peter 3:18
Last week, we learned that God created and loves us, but we have a big problem called sin. Today, we will look at what God did to help us. But what God did comes with a decision you need to make.
WARM-UP
Think about this question: Can you share a time you had to make a hard choice? (try to get a few answers, then coach share)
As you grow up, you will have tough choices. But there is one that is more important than all the others. More on that in a bit.
WORKOUT
JESUS RESCUES US
We owe God bigtime! Because of our sin, we are apart from God. Our sin goes against the perfect God Who created us. There is nothing we can do to get closer to Him.
But then God sent His Son Jesus. Jesus lived a sinless life and ended up dying on the cross. As 1 Peter 3:18 said, Jesus was 100% righteous and He died to pay for our sins. He died for us!
But He did not stay dead. He came back to life. Thanks to what Jesus did for us, we can be forgiven that sin and have a relationship with God, our Creator.
WILL YOU TRUST JESUS?
To be forgiven, you need to trust in what Jesus did on the cross. The Bible says,
“If you confess with your mouth “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. One believes with the heart, resulting in righteousness, and one confesses with the mouth, resulting in salvation.” –Romans 10:9-10
This is the most important decision you will ever have to make.
WRAP-UP
Q: Will you trust Him? Will you allow Jesus to be the Lord of your life and help you to live the way that you should?
I will pray to end the huddle, but if you want to talk to me or someone else about making Jesus your Lord and living for Him, please talk to us today.
(pray and break the huddle)
