Warm-Up
Remember our first truth? You were made on purpose for a purpose.
Today we learn our second truth: You can trust God and His Word.
Activity time! Partner up with another and do a trust fall! Start close together, and round by round, take a step away from each other! Make sure no one hits the ground.
Workout
Who or what is something you trust? (mom, dad, grandparent, teacher, gravity, internet)
Why do you trust them?
When we did the first trust fall, our confidence in our partner was strong. However, the moment we took steps away, our confidence in our partner weakened.
Raise your hand if you got a little nervous falling back into your teammate’s arms.
Raise your hand if you got a little nervous catching your teammate?
Here is the truth: God is the only one we can have full confidence and trust in.
If we did a trust fall with God, we would learn three things:
- We can trust God. He will not drop us.
“The person who trusts in the LORD, whose confidence indeed is the LORD, is blessed.”– Jeremiah 17:7 - We are safe with God. He will not harm us.
“The LORD of Armies is with us; the God of Jacob is our stronghold.” – Psalm 46:7 - He is always with us. He will not leave us.
“Haven’t I commanded you; be strong and courageous? Do not be afraid or discouraged, for the LORD your God is with you wherever you go. ” – Joshua 1:9
With God as our forever partner, we will always be safe. We have confidence that no matter where we are, no matter what we are going through, He will catch us. He is always right by our side!
Wrap-Up
Let’s Huddle up and yell, “I can trust God!”
“Dear God, thank You for being my confidence. Let me always fall into Your safe arms. Amen.”
